SA National Parks Week 2026

2 September 2026 by Guest

During the week from 7 to 13 September 2026, all South African citizens are allowed to enter national parks for free for a day visit.

SA National Parks Week free access does not include free access to accommodation or other paid activities within the parks. It grants free entry to national parks for day visitors only.

SA National Parks Week, typically held in September, offers free access to most of the 21 national parks for day visitors. This initiative aims to encourage South Africans to explore their natural heritage and foster a sense of ownership. However, this free access is specifically for day visits.

Bring your SA ID to gain FREE entrance. Children must also present valid identification at the gate.
