NMB Mayor’s Tourism Month Message

1 September 2026 by Guest

As we welcome Tourism Month, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality joins the nation in celebrating our city as a destination rich in natural beauty, history, heritage, culture and unforgettable experiences.

From our beautiful coastline and diverse wildlife to our historical landmarks, cultural attractions, vibrant events and welcoming communities, Nelson Mandela Bay offers something for everyone, whether you are a resident discovering your city or a visitor experiencing the Bay for the first time.

Tourism is more than an opportunity to explore; it is an important contributor to our local economy. The sector creates opportunities for local businesses, entrepreneurs, young people and communities, while supporting livelihoods, encouraging investment and contributing to sustainable economic growth.

This Tourism Month, we shine a spotlight on the people, businesses and communities whose passion and dedication continue to make Nelson Mandela Bay a destination worth experiencing.

As the Municipality, we encourage residents to explore local attractions, support local tourism businesses, protect our natural environment and heritage, and become ambassadors for our city.

Let us take pride in our home, support our local tourism sector and share the beauty, stories, culture and experiences of Nelson Mandela Bay with South Africa and the world.
