Mendi Arts Centre
The Mendi Arts Centre (originally designed as the Mendi Multi Purpose Centre) is a municipal cultural facility and community hub located at 135 Mendi Road in the township of New Brighton, Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), South Africa. Formally opened on 28 April 2021, the centre was adapted from an apartheid-era township beer hall. The redevelopment project cost R25 million, funded by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. It is managed by the city's Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture.
