Cape Town, South Africa — Giraffe Horizons Tours has published a spring and early peak-season guide for travellers planning a Cape Point and Boulders Beach penguin tour between September and November 2026.
The full-day Cape Peninsula route can connect the Atlantic Seaboard, Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive when open, the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Boulders Penguin Colony, Simon’s Town and the False Bay coastline. The exact order may change according to traffic, weather, road closures and attraction operations.
Spring brings longer daylight, changing coastal scenery and seasonal fynbos. It also overlaps with the later part of the Western Cape whale season, although whale sightings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed. Giraffe Horizons advises visitors to carry layers and a wind-resistant outer garment because conditions around Cape Point can differ from central Cape Town.
The guide places particular emphasis on responsible penguin viewing. Visitors should remain on designated paths and boardwalks, keep a respectful distance, never feed or touch penguins and follow SANParks instructions.
“The Cape Peninsula is not simply a collection of stops,” said Tafadhali Lubungo, founder and tour guide at Giraffe Horizons Tours. “The changing coastline, local communities, conservation areas and travel between them are all part of the experience.”
