Tramways Building
The Tramways Building is a historic, beautifully restored multi-purpose events venue and office space located at 16 Lower Valley Road in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa.
Key Details
History: Originally opened in June 1897 as a power station and tram shed for the Port Elizabeth Electric Tramway Company.
Management: It houses the head office of the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA), which led its major revitalization.
Location: Situated at the corner of Lower Valley Road and Union Street.
Event Spaces
Exhibition Hall: A large open floor space of over 1,000 square meters for major expos and conferences.
Left Wing: A 300 square meter area for mid-sized functions.
Upper Foyer: A 275 square meter space suited for cocktail parties and networking.
Boardroom: A private 16-seater meeting room.
