St George's Park Cricket Ground (commonly known as St George's Park, Crusaders Ground or simply Crusaders) is a cricket ground in Gqeberha, (formerly known as Port Elizabeth), in South Africa. It is the home of the Port Elizabeth Cricket Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in South Africa, the Eastern Province Club and Sunrisers Eastern Cape. It is also one of the venues at which Test matches and One Day Internationals are played in South Africa. It is older than Kingswood College in Grahamstown. The ground is notable for its brass band that plays during major matches, adding a unique flavour to its atmosphere. The ground hosted its first Test match in March 1889 when England defeated South Africa by 8 wickets. This was South Africa’s first Test match. As of 2005, there have been 21 Test matches played at the ground of which South Africa has won 8 and their opponents 9 with 4 draws. The first One Day International played at the ground was in December 1992 when South Africa beat India by 6 wickets. It also hosted five games in the Cricket World Cup in 2003. Organized by Betway SA20

The stage is set for a high-intensity clash as Sunrisers Eastern Cape host MI Cape Town at St George’s Park on Saturday, 30 January 2027. Scheduled as a blockbusting weekend afternoon fixture starting at 13:00 SAST, this Match 14 battle anchors a massive Betway SA20 Saturday double-header.

With a 13:00 local start time, fans will experience peak South African summer cricket at the country’s most rhythmic ground. The St George’s brass band will be out in full force from the opening ball, driving a festival atmosphere packed with sun-soaked grandstands, one-handed catch competitions for the crowd, and vibrant team activations.

This afternoon fixture presents a fascinating battle between MI Cape Town’s explosive batting order and the Sunrisers’ tactical bowling flexibility:

  • Sunrisers’ Home Defense: Playing in front of their “Orange Army,” the Sunrisers rely on the destructive middle-order power of Tristan Stubbs, the opening brilliance of Quinton de Kock, and a world-class bowling attack spearheaded by left-arm maestro Marco Jansen.
  • MI Cape Town’s Explosive Blueprint: The visiting Cape Town franchise brings spectacular boundary-clearing threat to Gqeberha, boasting premier global talent alongside dynamic local stars looking to exploit the afternoon conditions.
